the social entrepreneur_ Start-up School is a series of 2-hour sessions run across 2-days. The sessions are going to be held on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th April | 9.30am-4.30pm UK time – streamed live on Zoom. You’ll also be invited to join a private online learning platform and group – so that participants can interact and engage with one as well as view sessions back. We’ll also look to provide you with some resources and a workbook to set you some tasks to help you develop the initiatives you are working on.
You'll be interacting and engaging with likeminded social and mission-led individuals like you within the sessions on Zoom and in the private online learning platform and group
You'll be provided with a variety of useful information | content | and templates as part of the Start-up School sessions off a number of Friends and Partners to the programme
You'll be listening to new speakers in every session in addition to the content that can offer you valuable insights in to setting-up | running | and scaling successful social and mission-led businesses
You'll be learning off a social entrepreneur with 15-years+ experience of designing | developing | and creating successful/sustainable/replicable initiatives that generate social impact
Richard Leighton is a national award-winning social entrepreneur with 15+ years experience in designing | developing | and creating socially entrepreneurial initiatives. He holds a BA in Design Management | MA in Social Enterprise Development | and is a Fellow of the School for Social Entrepreneurs and the RSA. Richard is the first male in Britain to be employed as a Social Entrepreneur – initially for a Social Investment Group and also for a social housing and care and support provider. Richard now works for a university as its Entrepreneur in Residence – outside this he still sets-up social enterprise initiatives in partnership and collaboration with others. His main focus is on replicating a successful model he created that redevelops unused commercial property to provide accommodation to individuals in need of housing – that also offers on-site access to training | work experience | and employment support. In the social entrepreneur_ Start-up School – Richard provides participants with insight in to all the processes he follows to successfully design | develop | create | run | manage | scale | and replicate initiatives that create commercial and social impact on a sustainable basis.
